Children will be well catered for at The Quarter in Walsall, as St. Modwen secures lettings with both The Entertainer and Little Hooligans.

Walsall’s new retail quarter will become home to international toy store, The Entertainer, which has more than 160 stores in the UK and six overseas. The retailer has taken 5,500 sq ft and is due to open in November.

Children’s play company Little Hooligans has taken 10,400 sq ft at the new retail scheme. The new children’s play space will include a football pitch, trampolines and go karts, as well as educational soft play for toddlers, and is due to open later this year.

Gregg Titley, Development Director at St. Modwen, said:

“We are looking to attract a range of retail, restaurant and leisure occupiers at The Quarter to provide a vibrant shopping centre for local people and visitors to enjoy, so it’s great to have secured such prominent occupiers to cater for families and in particular the younger generations.”

The scheme is in a prime location in the heart of Walsall’s retail district, in an area currently undergoing significant regeneration works, and offers individual units ranging from1,150 sq ft to 8,500 sq ft.

The new lettings follow the recent opening of high street brands B&M and Poundland, who occupy a combined 30% of the 60,000 sq ft development.

Located at the south east of Old Square, The Quarter is a five-minute walk from Walsall’s bus and train stations, and a short drive from J10 of the M6.

The scheme has been delivered through a joint venture agreement, known as Norton and Proffitt Developments, between St. Modwen and Goold Estates Ltd, as part of the ongoing £90m transformation of Walsall town centre.
