Solihull Based Barratt Homes Hires New Carpenter Apprentice

Solihull based housebuilder Barratt Homes has employed a new apprentice to develop his skills on site whilst he studies to obtain his NVQ Level 3 in carpentry.


Christopher Murray (19) is working towards becoming qualified carpenter and chose Barratt Homes as the developer to hone his skills within the trade.


Chris is currently working at B5 Central in Birmingham four days a week and attends Redditch College one day a week to complete his apprenticeship.


Chris said,

“I used to work in a joinery but wanted to explore carpentry on site. I found the details of Barratt Homes’ apprenticeship on the website and it seemed like a great opportunity to gain experience.

“I think the apprenticeship is excellent, I’m learning new things every day and it’s helped me decide that I would like pursue carpentry and possibly site management once I finish my Level 3.”
