Origin Workspace has announced that Phase 1 of its £9 million renovation will officially open at over 80% occupancy on 1st May. Phase 1 comprises 20,000 sq. feet and around half of the 42,000 sq. footage of Co-Working & Private Office Space, dedicated to entrepreneurs, startups and scale up businesses being developed at 40 Berkeley Square.

Although the redevelopment of the site is still in the process of being completed, due to demand, many businesses have purchased membership for desk and cellular office space off plan. A number of the founding members have also occupied the Annex side of the building for some time and are moving across to occupy the newly refurbished main building.

Rob Hingston, Head of Origin, commented,

“We expected to open with a strong occupancy rate and a number of our memberships taken, but we’re thrilled to be able to announce that we’ve already hit over 80% capacity. As one of the only coworking spaces to offer both hot desk and private office environments, we believe this success is also coupled with the lack of supply in the market for premium high specification space to work in central Bristol.”

Founding members of Origin Workspace include Bud, an apprenticeship management platform; Flexology, a recruitment agency that specialise in professional part-time and flexible working roles; Cook Corporate, a boutique firm of solicitors specialising in corporate, commercial and employment law.

Hingston added,

“These founding members and the other business that have now signed up for membership understand the value of the proposition and will now be amongst the first to enjoy the new cutting-edge facilities that we’ll have on offer. Every aspect of Origin Workspace has been considered in order to promote a sense of community, collaboration and wellbeing. We designed Origin Workspace so businesses can start, grow and scale with us.”

With membership starting at £85 per month, Origin Workspace offers lounge membership, hot desks, dedicated desks and cellular office space. It also offers an active events programme, meeting rooms and event spaces for members and non-members to hire. Wellness runs through everything that Origin Workspace does, and members have access to the in-house gym. Origin Workspace also has a roof terrace with stunning views of South and Central Bristol. For those who wish to cycle to work, all of the facilities a cyclist could need, such as lockable cycle racks, showers and a drying room, are also present.

Charles Cook is Managing Partner at Cook Corporate, based at Origin Workspace, he commented,

“We really appreciate the collaborative working environment that Origin Workspace promotes. There’s a real sense of community and comradery; not to mention we’ve found Origin Workspace great from a networking point of view. Its busy events schedule has made it ideal for getting out there and meeting like-minded people, but also to have fun at the same time.”

Origin Workspace is designed to accommodate freelancers, contractors and homeworkers seeking an inspiring environment in which to work as well as small businesses seeking a supportive environment in which to get to the next stage of growth. There is also cellular office space available for larger companies looking for regional satellite offices in a productive environment.

Anyone interested in an Origin Workspace membership can get in touch for more information or to book a tour of the space. But don’t hang around!
