Installation of roundabout near entrance to new business park ahead of launch next month

Full infrastructure work at £150 million Bridgwater Gateway is nearing completion as the major new business park prepares for its launch next month.

Contractor Encon Construction is presently installing a roundabout near the entrance of the 100-acre development at J24 of the M5 in Somerset, which is being marketed by commercial property specialist Colliers International.

Phil Wade, development manager at Bridgwater Gateway, said:

“Work on full infrastructure of 1km of new private estate roads and extension of services is running to schedule, and is now very close to completion in time for the official launch of Bridgwater Gateway on Friday June 15.

“We are looking forward to being able to welcome visitors and show them the opportunities available at Bridgwater Gateway, which will be the newest business park on the M5 corridor and benefits from a strategic location and well-designed, modern buildings.”

Bridgwater Gateway has planning consent for high-specification commercial space in a landscaped setting, which will include prime industrial buildings and Grade A self-contained offices, two hotels, and a range of local facilities.

The UK’s biggest hotel brand, Premier Inn, has already announced it will be opening a 100-bed hotel on one of the prime road frontage plots at Bridgwater Gateway, and further announcements of occupiers are expected shortly.

Tim Davies, head of the South West and Wales for Colliers International, said:

“Bridgwater Gateway will be a business park for the 21st century, and will considerably enhance the prime industrial and Grade A office space in the South West.

“Modern design features that have attracted attention from potential occupiers include the electric charging points, the use of latest sustainable building technologies in all premises, and the state-of-the-art industrial units with dedicated car parking at the entrance and loading doors and parking areas for delivery lorries and vans at the rear.”
