Henry Boot Developments (HBD) has moved into its new office at Bank House, Birmingham city centre, after signing the lease back in September and undergoing a fit-out delivered by Estilo.
The dedicated Midlands base, which previously operated from Henry Boot’s headquarters in Sheffield, places its team in closer proximity to projects currently underway in the Midlands. Current projects include the recently purchased 48-acre Imperial Tobacco site in Nottingham and key development sites in Daventry and Leicester.
The Imperial Tobacco project is an important scheme for Nottingham, which has seen early success with a prelet of 200,000 sq ft and will see the remainder of the site redeveloped once decommissioning has been completed. The first phase will see the existing 1 million sq ft building demolished and site infrastructure put in place ready to accommodate upto 500,000 sq ft of new development.
In Daventry HBD is developing two key sites in partnership with Daventry District Council - The Oaks will bring major national retailers to the town and offer a range of food and non-food retail units. The scheme has recently secured planning approval for an 80,000 sq.ft retail park with hotel, drive thru, pub and restaurant units. The second site involves an area of land to the rear of Daventry high street, for which a planning application will be submitted early next year for a leisure based scheme.
In Leicester, HBD has acquired two sites from Sainsburys totalling 12 acres, with plans for a mixture of retail and commercial space. Working closely with the city council, local residents and businesses, designs for the scheme have been drawn up to reflect its key location in the city. A further site at Melton Road is also being developed. Both schemes are currently under consideration by the planning authority.

2017 has been a successful year to date for Henry Boot Developments, with a number of large projects underway throughout the UK, including the new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Markham Vale Derbyshire and Kampus, a £250m mixed-use development in Manchester city centre.
