Leading contractor, Wates Construction has appointed Paul Reynolds as Project Director for its delivery of Sandwell Aquatics Centre, which comes as the firm continues to build on its strong foundations in the region.
As Project Director, Paul will be responsible for the successful execution of both the pre-construction and construction phases of the prestigious project. This will be delivered for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. Construction will commence in July 2019.
Paul joins Wates from Carillion Construction where he worked for over 30 years progressing initially to Project Director and for the last 11 years as Operational Director in the Midlands. Paul’s extensive experience has seen him take responsibility for the successful delivery of many prestigious projects across a variety of sectors and project values.
The appointment supports Wates Construction’s continued growth in the Midlands where it is currently delivering a number of high-profile projects, including the Access Group’s new HQ on the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park, Nottingham City Hub and The Bank, Birmingham's tallest residential skyscraper.

Outside of work, married father of two Paul enjoys keeping fit with long distance walking, running, squash and circuit training among his favourite hobbies. Aside from active pursuits, Paul also spends his time organising charity events, including in 2016 when he led 40 walkers on a 50 mile route raising £15,000 for a local Children’s Hospice.
