Nottingham-based Clegg Construction has handed over the care home in Bromsgrove which was built as part of a £4.6m contract with Cinnamon Care Capital.

The care home, called The Lodge at Burcot Grange, will provide 54 en-suite bedrooms along with a hairdressing salon, coffee shop, life-skills kitchen, reception area and extensive landscaped gardens.

Primarily for residents with dementia, the building is adjacent to the existing Burcot Grange care home, operated by the Cinnamon Care Collection, which is located in an extended Victorian country house.

The Burcot Grange scheme started in August 2016 and has now been completed and handed. As part of the development a time capsule was created and buried by pupils at Blackwell First School.

Simon Blackburn, Managing Director of Clegg Construction, said:

“This was an excellent development to work on and we’re very pleased that Cinnamon Care Capital chose us once again to deliver a quality development for them.

“We were particularly conscious of having to work in a live environment alongside the existing care home and we worked very closely with the operators and staff to ensure disruption for residents was kept to a minimum.

“We developed an excellent relationship throughout the year-long programme and were more than happy to assist with the home’s annual fete, carrying out general repairs around the grounds and donating raffle prizes. We pride ourselves on building and maintaining good relationships with our clients.”

Ken MacKenzie, Development Director at Cinnamon Care Capital, said:

“The development at Burcot Grange which further extends the facilities of the existing care home Burcot Grange, is another landmark for the Cinnamon Care Collection. We could not have achieved it so effortlessly without the dedicated support and service of our trusted partners, Clegg Construction.”

This is the second project Clegg Construction has completed for Cinnamon after it opened its Cedar Mews complex in Birstall, Leicestershire in January 2017.

The £5.1m facility featured 73 bedrooms, a cinema, bar, lounge and beauty salon as well as specialist facilities for residents with dementia.
