National property consultancy, has announced a key promotion within its Land Development and Planning team, showcasing its ambition to drive the business forward across the South West, despite the current economic challenges facing the property industry following the lockdown period.

Robert Anthony, part of the firm’s Land Development and Planning team who works across its Gloucester and Bristol based offices, has been promoted from Associate to Partner. With an ambition to grow the team and drive the business forward across the South West region, Rob will focus on the development of the team’s consultancy skills and branching out of Gloucester/Bristol to continue to extend the client list further still.

In what is a very challenging time for the industry, Bruton Knowles Managing Partner, James Bailey explains why Robert’s promotion is an important step for the business: “As an industry we are entering a period of recovery mode post lockdown and to combat that we need to think bigger. Now is the time for us to invest in employees who showcase a passion for the business and a willingness to branch out to create new opportunities.’

Robert started working with Bruton Knowles back in 2003 as a Graduate. He will now join Richard Brogden and Scott Winnard as Partners within the Gloucester based Land Development and Planning team, providing advice to landowners from all sectors including private landowners, house builders, registered providers and government authorities.

James Bailey continues:

“Robert is a land and development expert and his attention to detail, personable approach and successful results mean he is regularly retained by clients, to provide comprehensive valuation and strategy advice.

“The new promotion will enable him to continue to work closely with landowners and housebuilders not only in the South West region but further afield, driving new development opportunities, which will ultimately help to grow the business.”

Robert specialises in residential and mixed-use development consultancy, helping public, private and third sector clients to enhance their interests in relation to development and regeneration opportunities. His impressive client list includes leading house builders, private and institutional landowners and local authorities.

Robert Antony, Partner at Bruton Knowles Gloucester office comments:

“I am delighted with the promotion to Partner. After working with the business for 17 years, I have built up a high level of experience and a strong client list, and will be using my skills to educate and grow the team, whilst driving forward opportunities for securing work from new and existing clients.”

As well as the usual development consultancy advice in relation to contingent land deals, equalisation, loan security, overage/uplift entitlement, covenant and access issues, Robert is keen to expand on the firm’s success in providing detailed development viability and feasibility advice to both the private and public sector. Further to this, he intends to promote Bruton Knowles’ new site finding service which has already identified strategic and immediate development sites for retained clients.
