Professional services recruiter Sellick Partnership has ended its 15th year in business with a record performance, bolstered by particularly strong results in the permanent jobs market.

Permanent placements rose by 55 per cent in 2017, with Sellick Partnership’s consultants filling 326 positions compared with 211 in 2016. Temporary placements also rose in 2017, albeit at a slower rate, up 6 per cent to 1,315 roles, compared with 1,235 in 2016.

Sellick Partnership’s own team grew exponentially during the 12 months, as the recruiter expanded its offering to include more professional services. Some 31 new hires were made in 2017, bringing the total workforce to 85 permanent employees.

Jo Sellick, Managing Director of Sellick Partnership, says:

“Despite the ongoing uncertainty around Brexit, our data suggests business leaders are feeling more confident and willing to invest in permanent roles than they were this time last year. Temporary positions continue to appeal to both employers and employees alike, as they enable business owners to exercise a certain level of caution when adding to their payroll.

We expected to take a hit in the temporary market due to the IR35 reforms, but our results show that we were able to mitigate its impact on clients, and we have subsequently exceeded our targets for the year.”

The Manchester-based recruitment firm has offices around the UK, and celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2017 by focussing on its CSR initiatives and employee wellbeing. It was named on the Great Place to Work® UK list and also featured in the Financial Times FT 1000 list of the 1,000 fastest growing companies in Europe.

Jo says:

“I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved in our 15-year history, and I am delighted to end such a special 12 months on a record high. It puts us in an extremely strong position as we enter 2018 with ambitious plans for growth, as well as an exciting brand and website refresh in the pipeline.”

The company plans to continue expanding its professional services offering in 2018 and will add more specialist consultants to its workforce. It will also help clients navigate the pending GDPR regulations that come into force on 25 May 2018, as well as guiding employers through the ongoing challenges posed by Brexit.
