Private Sector Urged to Prepare Now for IR35 Changes

Private sectors employers must begin urgent preparations ahead of the April 2020 changes to IR35. Designed to assess whether a contractor is genuine or simply a ‘disguised’ employee, the implementation to the public sector in 2017 saw 98% of contractors avoid contracts that placed them inside IR35.

The complex legislation requires diligent planning. Organisations must prepare flexible workforce staff and get to grips with tests in order to remain compliant, either inside or outside IR35 rules. Those who do not clarify their status are putting their organisation at risk, with punitive consequences if HMRC do not agree with status assessments.

Following BFI’s sold-out London launch of the ‘IR35 Planning & Preparation Conference for Private Sector Employers’, the comprehensive seminar comes to Manchester for the first time on Tuesday 26th March 2019. Attendees will be given the tools to help draw up a compliant and workable game plan for staffing which will avoid fines and ensure talent pools remain at optimum levels. Delegates will learn the best ways to classify and communicate with affected staff, ensuring they are aware of their options and obligations as well as offering a range of workable contract options.

Avoid costly legal challenges to status assessments and debilitating staff loss by planning early. See the full agenda and register your place today by clicking here
