One of the UK’s leading purchasing and procurement groups is defying the current climate of economic uncertainty and is set to enjoy one of its best business years yet.

Despite national commercial challenges like the minimum wage, pension contributions and Brexit-related issues, the Regency Purchasing Group is bucking the general trend, and expanding.

The organisation, which is based in the South West, has announced two significant appointments to its national sales force this summer, Carole Stainforth and Simon Fowles.

Regency’s National Sales Manager Ben Hoskin said: “Carole brings with her a wealth of key account management experience, alongside a proven sales background.

“We know she will hit the ground running in her area and help our members achieve significant savings.

“Simon has experience in both national and key accounts, and has worked both in the on and off trade sections of the food industry for the past eight years.

“This experience will allow him to really put himself in our members’ shoes to always find the right solution for any problems they may encounter.

“I have every confidence that the two of them will be assets to our team and our members.”

He added: “With the office support team set to expand and the fact that June was our best trading month to date, 2017 is shaping up to be Regency’s finest year yet.”

Last month, the Regency Purchasing Group revealed it had seen its business grow by 41% so far this year, citing rising food prices, economic uncertainty and Brexit as contributing factors, with businesses appointing purchasing groups rather than suffering the costs of recruiting and managing their own teams.

Regency has more than 2,400 members throughout the UK which gives it the strength and annual buying power to secure the very best deals.

The Regency Group provides purchasing solutions for bars, golf clubs, restaurants, zoos, tourist attractions and hotels, as well as supplying other services such as waste management and utilities.
