Neon Creations celebrates 16 years of lighting up the UK’s interiors

Bolton based neon sign specialist, Neon Creations is celebrating 16 years of lighting up the UK’s bars, restaurants and homes as it reports strong growth and future expansion plans.

The family-run business was founded by husband and wife team Tony and Catherine Spink in 2005 and, despite the impacts of the pandemic, the business is showing a bright future with a 30 per cent growth in residential lighting sales in the past year.

It’s one of only a handful of businesses in the UK that makes genuine neon signage, lights and art by hand using glass and time-served techniques.

Its impressive client list includes some of the region’s most iconic brands and businesses such as Almost Famous, Common, Missguided HQ, Boohoo Man, Coronation Street, LadBible, Afflecks, SoLita, Luck Lust Liquor and Burn, Sangam and The Spinn. As well as being a popular fixture in the North West’s bars, restaurants and workplaces, the company has also completed projects nation-wide for brands including Calvin Klein, MAC Cosmetics, Sweaty Betty, MTV, Bestival, Little Mix and Saatchi & Saatchi.

With an equally impressive celebrity-clientele, the business has handmade show stopping creations for famous faces including Abby Clancy, Jordan Pickford and Gary Neville.

Customers can also hire signs from its large neon emporium in the North West.

Commenting on the 16 year milestone, co-founder Catherine Spink, said:

“In a year where Covid significantly impacted orders from commercial clients, demand for real neon craftsmanship has continued as a rising trend in UK home interiors, with homeowners turning to the optimistic interiors trend to brighten up their living spaces and add a bit of fun and personality to their décor. Orders for home bars, man caves and personalising a workspace were amongst the most popular reasons for purchasing.

“With the roll back of restrictions now also driving orders in the commercial sector, as hospitality and leisure business owners look to update their interiors and signage to help attract customers back inside, we’re immensely proud to be celebrating our sweet 16th and predict a strong future ahead.

“Neon has been growing in popularity as an interiors trend for many years – it’s fun and vibey and can create a real statement piece of art. What stands us apart is that our customers can be involved in the whole process – from providing a brief and working with us on the finished design, to seeing how it’s actually made – a feature we provide via our website and digital channels. We love working with customers to bring their vision to life and all of our signs are bespoke and custom made to order – something which people love as it means that they are getting an end product that is truly unique to them.

“We carry out projects across the UK but it is fantastic to work with local businesses and customers. With signs in some of Manchester city centre’s most well-known bars and restaurants you are never more than a stone’s throw away from one of our installations. It’s great to go out in the region and see customers interacting with the signs – many of them make great Instagram opportunities and we love how they become an iconic part of each destination.”
