QVentures, in partnership with London Business School, is proud to announce the launch of the first executive education programme of its kind: Best Practices for Professional Investors in Venture Capital exclusively for QVentures members.

London Business School (LBS) and QVentures, a leading private network for sophisticated investors, have launched an exclusive professional development programme aimed at Venture Capital professionals, Family Offices and sophisticated investors.

This intensive four-day professional development programme for Venture Capital Professionals, Family Offices and investors in early-stage companies is run by London Business School and co-developed with QVentures. The programme aims to provide the best practices in Venture Capital and fill the gaps in training through hands-on learning experiences and practical case studies in a challenging interactive environment.

With the aim to refine professional investment practice, the course will delve into topics such as origination, due diligence, deal structuring, portfolio management and term sheet negotiation.

Taught by leading academics from LBS and industry experts, this unique course will address the Venture Capital world in a holistic way, looking at both its hard and soft dimensions, macro and micro factors that drive strategy and investment decisions. The programme style and tone will be interactive and experiential and will include feedback, dialogue and coaching groups to debate and dive further into the content.

Julian Birkinshaw, Deputy Dean of Executive Education at LBS says:

“We are proud of the collaboration with QVentures to bring more education to the Venture Capital industry. The programme builds on some of the best thinking in this field, invites industry experts and speakers to share insights and challenges, and will help participants create lasting business impact back in the workplace.”

Robert Walsh, Managing Partner of QVentures says:

“In partnership with London Business School, one of the leading executive education institutions in the world, we have combined our extensive experience in funding rounds for Pre-Series A / Series A companies and have co-designed a four-day executive training programme on Venture Capital.”

With the coming of age of the European venture market, research conducted by LBS indicates that many Venture Capital professionals are seeking more formal learning and knowledge to deepen their career expertise. This new programme aims to address this gap by enhancing both competence and confidence for Venture Capital professionals through a unique experience that hasn’t yet been available in the market. The programme also aims to provide the NextGeneration of Family Offices additional professional training in direct investing as they gradually take on more responsibility on investment decisions of the family wealth.

The four-day programme is limited to 25 participants and targets professionals with at least three years experience in the ecosystem who are looking to deepen their expertise and network.
