Birmingham-based Common Purpose, an international leadership development organisation, has announced the redesign of their senior leaders programme; aimed at ensuring time-poor senior leaders maximise their leadership potential.
With continued economic uncertainty - and the call for better management and leadership to help address the productivity gap - more business owners and leaders can see the need for new ideas, thinking and peer support, but many don’t know where to find it – or think they don’t have the time for it. Common Purpose’s innovative leadership programme uses peer-to-peer insights for chief executives and other senior leaders who may not have time, or the opportunity, to collaborate with peers outside their organisation or industry. Specialising in cross-boundary leadership, their flagship Meridian programme accelerates learning via experiential sessions allowing participants to learn from a diverse range of peers from across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
A recent study of Meridian alumni proves the value of the course, with 90% of senior leaders who took part saying it helped them develop as leaders, drive bold innovation and gain broader networks.

The new Meridian programme takes place over three days, supported by half-day sessions and peer-coaching sessions, as well online elements to extend participant’s learning. Recent alumni from the senior leaders programme include graduates from local organisations such as BMG Research, Moor Hall Hotel and Start Again as well as well-known names like Birmingham Airport, HSBC, Arts Council England and Wasps Rugby FC.
