A LEADING North Somerset recruitment agency has this month (June, 2018) revealed a growing trend for modern employers to interview potential new staff online rather than meeting them in person.

Weston-super-Mare-based AAA Recruitment, which helps jobseekers nationwide find work and, also seeks out new employees for companies, says there is a tendency for firms to e-meet candidates at all levels.

AAA’s Managing Director, Andrew Tregenza, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, explained:

“I’ve seen a greater reliance on technology through all aspects of recruitment since I started my career but in recent months I’ve noticed, in particular, that employers who are wishing to save time, money and resources are opting to interview employees, at least in the initial stages of the recruitment process, via the internet through email, social media, Skype and FaceTime.

“Some are even conducting final interviews by this method too and see no problem with embracing technology in this way. After all it is better for the environment than initiating wasteful car trips. It is also cost-effective when time is short and as productivity is a real problem in Britain.

“We live in a world that is driven by technology and both employers and candidates are embracing the benefits of e-interviews over and above the traditional face-to-face approach. Here at our agency we also chat to candidates and those with vacancies they wish to fill via these methods.”

AAA Recruitment provides a real-time online interview service for those looking for work and employers, and acts as an intermediary.

Andrew added:

“We’re also working towards meeting with potential employers at their offices or place of work and doing a short piece to video about the role they have to fill, showing the candidate where they will be working, talking to other team members and giving a feel for the culture of the organisation.

“Candidates these days also like to create video using their smart phones when applying for a job too, so that they can explain personally why they would be good for the role, while also showcasing some of their skills. We find people who send potential employers appropriate and well curated footage of themselves tend to do better in the e-interview process too.”

The team at AAA Recruitment has a wealth of experience and knowledge in many industries but is currently focused on restaurants, hotels and leisure parks and specialises in capturing the very best talent through advertising, networking and head hunting.

“We’ve invested significantly in our state-of-the-art offices in Weston ensuring they are of a very high IT spec, which allows us to use the latest in communication methods including conference Skype.

“We have many candidates looking for jobs at the moment including HR/IT Manager and a Stockbroker many more and, also, have employers seeking Project Manager, Head Chef, Service Delivery Manager, Sales Account Manager and Finance Director in the area. Many of these roles are ones where bosses can e-interview their potential new employees and both parties can get a feel for each other without meeting in person unless they wish to go on to the second interview stage or to make a job offer.”
