Burton based Willshee’s will be leading the way as they work around the clock this festive season to help restaurants, pubs and bars to recycle commercial waste over the Christmas period.

The festive period, which sees a rise of 30%* in waste each year, is a peak time for the recycling experts, who anticipate collecting 10,000 tonnes of recyclable material during December, including 200 tonnes of glass and 3,000 tonnes of cardboard.

This year will be the first Christmas the award-winning firm will have used their new state of the art recycling truck, one of only a handful in the region that segregates materials at the point of collection. The vehicle is an additional way businesses can recycle their waste, helping them to lead the way in meeting Government targets of zero avoidable waste by 2025.*

Dean Willshee, Managing Director of Willshee’s, said the firm was passionate about helping hospitality businesses with their increased recycling needs over the festive period. He said:

“As the party season approaches, we are working closely with customers to ensure their waste is collected and recycled. It’s a peak time of year for our business and our fleet of vehicles and experienced team will be working non-stop in the run up to Christmas.”

Branston Golf and Country Club and Burton's The Winery restaurant and bar expect thousands of people to enjoy their party nights at two of Burton’s premier destinations.

Ben Laing, managing director at Branston Golf and Country Club pictured with Dean Willshee said:

“Christmas is one of our busiest times of year, with thousands of people set to enjoy our array of festive events and hospitality. As a company we are very conscious to make sure that we are recycling and are proud that 100% of our glass and cardboard is recycled even at peak times of the year such as Christmas.”
