Communications agency Purplefish has appointed Lisa Davey and Dani Andres as associate directors as part of a new expansion plan for the business.

Dani Andres joins the Paintworks-based agency and brings 12 years’ agency experience with specific expertise in the events sector, consumer campaigns and property. Her role will include business development and driving a new proposition for the agency for 2020 as part of its plans to double in size in the next 18 months.

With 14 years’ agency and freelance experience, Lisa has previously worked with national consumer brands, as well as the corporate and events sectors. She will join the Purplefish team to grow the business and to take responsibility for team development, training and new talent acquisition as the agency grows.

They join the management team with Alice Bradshaw-Smith who has been promoted to account director, alongside managing director and founder Joanna Randall.

Ex-journalist Alice has been with the business since 2016 and has risen through the ranks. She runs her own portfolio of clients covering both corporate and consumer brands.

Purplefish started as a freelance business in 2010 and, after a fast-initial growth phase, was incorporated in 2012. The now 12-strong agency offers full-service communications services including public relations and social media, video and content, events and experiential and strategic issues consultancy.

The business has particular specialism in the tech sector, covering B2B and consumer brands including global hotel technology provider Avvio and OpenAthens, the identity and access management service.

Property – both commercial and residential – is another industry specialism for Purplefish, which counts Redrow Homes as a longstanding client, as well as British Council for Offices (BCO) and more recently Grainger plc.

The agency’s growing number of corporate sector clients includes Optimum Finance, BGF and Gregg Latchams.

With a strong community focus, the business also works with a range of organisations across Bristol including launching YoBike to the city, St Pauls Carnival and The Barton Hill Settlement.

Commenting on the new appointments, Joanna Randall said:

“This is a really exciting time for us as a business. Since we started the PR and marketing services industry has radically changed and we have always worked hard to stay ahead of consistently evolving needs of clients across the sectors we operate.

“Getting Lisa and Dani on board with their extensive experience and strong networks will provide us with the right resource to get to the next stage of growth. We had a record year last year and are now looking to the next phase.

“Despite increasing automation in much of the work we do people are still genuinely central to the way we work and we are looking to grow further – we’re always on the look-out for new talent and are currently recruiting at both account manager and account executive levels.”
