Birmingham-based media planning and buying agency BBJ&K has gained national recognition in two major industry awards, placing them alongside some of the best advertising agencies in the UK.

The top 100 performers in the advertising sector gathered at 11 Cavendish Square in April, for the Campaign Best Place to Work 2022 awards, where BBJ&K was a finalist in the small agency category. The awards are a joint effort by Campaign Magazine and Workforce Research Group (WRG), and celebrate employers that have created healthy and enjoyable environments for their staff.

BBJ&K has also been shortlisted for the prestigious ALF Insight awards, in the ‘Culture & Mental Health’ category. These awards recognise and celebrate the best work and brands in the media world. Agencies shortlisted represent the most compelling pitches, biggest turnarounds, best brands and the rising stars and sales leaders. The award ceremony will take place at The Londoner on 15th June.

Managing Director for BBJ&K, Emma Baxter, said:

“Being shortlisted in two respected national awards is a real honour. These two award schemes have put our little agency, which has only been around for six years, into the mix of major players in the industry.

“The Campaign Best Place to Work 2022 and Alf Insight Awards both showcase our culture and the importance we place on mental health, happiness and wellbeing in the workplace.

“We are proud that BBJ&K has been recognised as a great place to work, it’s something we constantly strive for, and the reason our staff enjoy coming to work every day, positively impacting the ongoing success of our business.

“Staff retention does not require grand gestures - listening to staff, ensuring they know they are valued and are given the opportunity to learn and progress is key to getting people to stay, the odd ‘Fizz Friday’ or ‘Margarita Monday’ doesn’t hurt either.”
