TRICO, a leading supplier and OEM manufacturer of wiper blades, has pledged its support for Redditch United Football Club once again by lending its services to a day of fundraising and gift-giving in the local area.

A fundraising event is being hosted on the morning of the 4th November at the TRICO Stadium, home of The Reds. The event is to generate funds to sustain projects run by Redditch United, as it continues its aim of encouraging young people to stay away from anti-social behaviour and crime.

Between 10:00am and 12:30pm, members of the public can arrive at the stadium to receive a free car wash from individuals involved with the community project. Staff from TRICO will also be on hand to perform a quick wiper blade safety check – and if they deem wipers need replacing, will be done so free of charge.

Redditch United General Manager, David Tittershill, said:

“We are passionate about this community scheme, as we know that it is important that young people feel included and valued in our society. This project is doing just that and has worked wonders since day one in keeping the community safe and enjoyable for everyone.”

Sports Partnership: Herefordshire and Worcestershire, a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to get the two counties healthier and more active, will also be attending the event along with local police. The constabulary will also be getting their cars washed and community officers will also be on-hand to offer advice and join in the fun.

Youth Engagement Officer at Sports Partnership, Ruth Jones, said:

“We have been involved with this [since itsfoundation] and have enjoyed a great relationship with everyone involved. We have focused on sustainability of the club, and to do this we encourage young people involved to take pride and ownership of the project.

“The team came up with the idea for a car wash in the aim of supporting their club and bringing the community closer. We can’t wait to get stuck in and we thank TRICO for lending its help to us for this fundraiser.”

After the event, people are then encouraged to stay and watch Redditch United’s match against Merthyr Town at The TRICO Stadium for further entertainment and giveaways. Fans that are attending by car will be able to receive a free wiper blade change on behalf of TRICO, as well as offered expertise and advice about maintenance.

David said:

“Our partnership with a world-renowned company like TRICO goes a long way in achieving success for the football club and the local area. It will be a great day for people to get a free car wash and wiper blades in the morning and then watch a good game of football in the afternoon.”

TRICO Brand and Product Manager, Sam Robinson, added:

“It is very important to TRICO that we get involved with the local community in as many different ways as possible. This is a chance for people to come and try something different and contribute to a very good cause.

“Giving out free wiper blades to fans and offering advice to them is a small token of our commitment to help anyone and in anyway possible. We hope that people come in their droves to support The Reds against Merthyr Town in the afternoon to continue to help fund local institutions that are at the heart of this community.”
