Lancaster Brewery is delighted to secure listings for all of its freehold managed venues in CAMRA’s 2018 Good Beer Guide. The Sun Hotel and Bar in Lancaster, The Mill in Ulverston, The Duke of Edinburgh in Barrow-in-Furness and The Brew House and Tap, based at Lancaster Brewery’s headquarters, are now all listed by the long respected guide.

In addition, The Sun Hotel and Bar has been listed in the 2018 Good Pub Guide. This recognition comes after recently securing a runners up award at the prestigious Morning Advertiser’s Great British Pub Awards - in the ‘Beer Pub of the Year’ category.

Wrapping up the accolades, all the Brewery’s venues are now Cask Marque accredited. This means that beer in each pub is guaranteed to be in perfect condition at all times. To secure this stamp of approval, qualified cask marque assessors visit each pub to check the temperature, aroma, appearance and taste of its beers. It is tough to pass and a real ‘must have’ for serious beer drinkers.

“Our success is made up of dozens of people going the extra mile, from the brewers coming in on their days off and holidays to check the fermentation vessels, to the bar staff working an extra hour to clean the glass wash, cellar staff repeatedly cleaning beer lines to ensure they're immaculate, and cellar services engineers dropping everything to fix our ‘slightly-too-warm’ cellar - the list goes on and on. All this extra effort makes an incredible difference, and that’s what is allowing us to deliver a solid, consistent experience.

We are the only micro brewery in the area with this recognition for all of its venues, and it's because of the diligence and energy of our amazing staff.”

Locals are invited to help the Brewery with a fundraising effort this month, the fifth annual ‘Roll out the Barrel’ event takes place on 29 October at Lancaster Brewery’s HQ.
