One of the UK’s fastest growing milkshake and smoothie companies has opened a new store, head office and training academy in north London.

ShakeTastic which has a trio of British Smoothie Championship successes to its name is now taking its ‘biggest step’ yet by opening the ShakeAcademy and a head office above its new store on Barnet High Street.

The company was set up by two former school friends Amir Darabi and Josh Kettle in 2009 and is growing rapidly.

Josh said: “We have 8 stores in north London and opening here seemed a logical step as people know all about us. We’ve been looking for a head office for some time now but finding the right property proved to be tricky.

“The Barnet store offers the perfect solution as we’ve fitted out a fully operational store and a training centre where our staff and franchisees can come and learn everything about what makes ShakeTastic a success.

“This is our biggest step since we started the business and we’re all really excited about the next stage of our growth which will see more UK and international openings as well.”

Amir said: “We originally started the business because we both loved milkshakes and there was nowhere near where we lived which made really good ones.

“Smoothies and juices are also a really big part of our menu and we’re constantly looking at ways of improving what we do and have to offer our customers.

“We see franchising as a big area of growth for us. We’ve come up with a winning formula and we want to share that with franchisees.

“We’ve already opened two stores in Qatar this year which are trading very successfully.

“The ShakeAcademy shows we care about serving consistently delicious drinks and that we’re investing in developing a super team.

“The only problem we have is our head office doesn’t have a name yet.

“We don’t want to call it a head office because let’s face it that’s boring and ShakeTastic is about having fun and expressing yourself.

“That’s why we’re running a competition for our customers to come up with a great name for it. We’ve promoted the competition on our social media channels and it’s received a lot of good and fun feedback.”
