Privately owned Alveston House Hotel has yet another reason to celebrate following an exceptional report from the AA. New Head Chef, Joe Holland, received his first AA Rosette following the inspector’s visit in July.

Joe has had an incredible July, during which he was able to show case his new dishes with the Hotel’s first ‘Tasting Evening’. The evening was a huge success with local people having the opportunity to enjoy an eight-course dinner with matching wines.

The Inspector highlighted Joe’s talent within his feedback, as can be seen from the following extract from the 17 page report given to owner, Julie Camm.

“It was good to return to Alveston House Hotel for this routine overnight inspection which proved to be another very positive visit. Hospitality and service provided a very good mix of a relaxed and friendly welcome with efficient and helpful service at all times – a very pleasant team of staff in place! Bedrooms and bathrooms are generally well decorated and furnished and housekeeping displayed very good attention to detail throughout all areas of the hotel. All public areas appeared in good order including the comfortable lounge and the well-furnished Carriages Restaurant. Dinner was especially enjoyable under the careful guidance of new Head Chef, Joe Holland and achieves a new award of One Rosette. Good selection of hot and cold items also provided at breakfast. We look forward to returning in due course and in the meantime, confirm a grading as a Three Star hotel with an impressive merit score of 84% continues to be well deserved.”

Julie Camm, owner and General Manager said, “We are delighted to have received such positive feedback from the AA and feel that Joe has earned his AA Rosette with his imaginative and delicious dishes – onwards and upwards, hopefully towards Two Rosettes next year”. Another tasting evening is planned for September.
