Music Nights, arts and crafts events and a brand new play area have been launched at Wookey Hole Caves’ flagship Bucklegrove Holiday Park in response to an anticipated increase in staycations this summer.

New attractions have been added in response to feedback from guests, including a takeaway hot meal service. A number of new units have been added and others replaced to boost creature comforts.

The music nights are open to the public as well as holidaymakers.

Wookey Hole Caves Managing Director Daniel Medley said:

“A full entertainments programme has been launched for the 2019 season, kicking off this Easter with live music, arts and crafts workshops, dinosaur walk and an Easter Trail.”

Daniel said increasing numbers of people were looking for short breaks, getaway weekends and traditional family holidays offering a touch of luxury at affordable prices.

“At the height of last year’s holiday season we welcomed 1,400 guests per night. The hospitality industry is predicting a bumper summer for staycations and we have invested in our resort to appeal to families looking for a rural break close to beaches and city life.”

He added:

“The success of Bucklegrove Holiday Park demonstrates the potential for expanding our business offering and we are determined to build on that for the future.”

The resort, which includes the Wookey Hole Hotel and Mendip Lodges as well as the Bucklegrove Holiday Park – has already attracted strong bookings for this year.

The Wookey Hole Hotel is perfect for year-round family holidays and short breaks with free parking, Wi Fi and stylish Bistro restaurant and bar - just two miles from Medieval Wells and only 20 miles from Roman Bath.

The Mendip View Luxury Lodges cater for parties of up to six people, combining luxury living with all the delights of one of the world’s most famous attractions right on the doorstep.
