Visitors to Somerset’s favourite tourist destination are in for a roaring good time this Whitsun Holidays with a line-up filled with Dinosaur fun and frolics.

The state-of-the-art animatronic Dinosaurs which landed at Wookey Hole Caves’ Dinosaur Valley earlier this Spring will be ready to delight a new generation of visitors with their roaring, hissing, blinking and stomping.

Families will also be treated to a viewing of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs™ – The 4D Experience, and if that’s not enough there will also be a Walkabout Dino roaming the Valley from 26 May until 3 June.

Daniel Medley, Director at Wookey Hole Caves, said:

“We’ve gone absolutely Dinosaur mad here at Wookey for 2018. After installing our brand new animatronic Dinosaurs earlier in the season we saw the reaction from visitors and decided to add the Walkabout Dino for the Whitsun Holidays.

“Like our new fixed animatronic Dinosaurs, the Walkabout Dino makes life-like sounds and has an animated face which blinks and moves along with his body and tail but he also roams the Valley meeting and greeting guests.

“Whitsun is one of our most popular times of year so we wanted to do something special and continue with the Dinosaur theme. For families to be greeted with these fascinating life-like creatures as they emerge from our world-famous cave tour is the icing on the cake.

“The 4D movie is also absolutely fantastic, visitors will slip, slide, and soar with our sub-zero heroes in this 14-minute experience and it is all part of the one Wookey Hole Caves entry fee.”

The animatronic pre-historic beasts were specially shipped in from China bringing extra action and excitement to Wookey Hole and towering over families as they explore the site.

The new attractions follow in the footprints of actual woolly mammoths, lions and hyenas which once roamed the Wookey Hole Caves and hunted along the surrounding cliffs and valleys.

There are a further 20 indoor and outdoor attractions at Wookey Hole all fantastic fun and included in the one ticket price, meaning great value for money.

The atmospheric cave tour is a definite highlight whichfeatures brand new caverns, tunnels and subterranean lakes only recently opened to the public, and promises history, mystery and cave-aged cheese!

The Witch of Wookey will be on site for the duration of the holidays and visitors can also enjoy Adventure Golf, Wizard’s Play Castle, Mirror Maze, Cave Museum, Monster Mill, Fairy Garden, Penny Arcade and Captain Jack’s Restaurant.

In 2018 Wookey is also celebrating 250 years of the circus and the high-energy performances during the daily world-famous Gerry Cottle Circus Shows are the perfect way to celebrate. Trapeze acts, unicycle riding, wire walking, silks and ropes, gymnastics and balancing acts are displayed by performers from the onsite Circus School.

Accommodation is available at the onsite hotel, onsite luxury lodges or at the nearby Bucklegrove Holiday Park which boasts camping, touring and lodge facilities as well as a restaurant, swimming pool and live music.
