Birmingham’s Digby pub celebrated on Friday night (29th September) after a £150,000 investment revealed the extended restaurant, with a third extra covers, complete with ornate and stunning décor.

The refurbishment that has created five new jobs, has a transformed bar area, revamped beer garden, a much expanded range of cask ales and food with a new ‘King’s Feast’ menu.

Menu tasters and fizz went down a storm as the community gathered to take in the new look.

“It’s more stunning than even we imagined,”

said General Manager Yvonne Gillick.

“Our loyal regulars were definitely impressed – we’ve protected all they love about the pub but the design is just fabulous. My favourite bit is the library wall!”

The pub has stuck with a range of rotating ales across its four pumps whilst branching out with a ‘spirits emporium’; Tutti Fruity and Sour Cherry cocktail bowls; and a suitably wide soft drinks range.

Culinary delights from the aptly named ‘Kings Feast’ menu boast a vast array of dishes guaranteeing something for everyone - all day traditional English breakfast, to grills, gourmet burgers, lighter summer salads and vegetarian options including the Panang Curry.

Six monster dishes are for the less faint hearted. Jumbo Pie Platter: Chicken Dinner Pie and Beef & Ale Pie with accompaniments; Sausage & Mash Mountain: (nine sausages, with plenty of creamy potato smothered with onion gravy); and Chef’s Choice Plank: Mexican- topped twisters, chicken & chorizo, mini nachos, meatballs and garlic bread.

“We’re encouraging families to get out and spend quality time together –we’ve made plenty of room for everyone!”

added Yvonne.

There are reasons to visit every night of the week; Monday night games, Tuesday and Wednesday Sport, Thursday Quiz, Friday and Saturday ramp up the volume with a Live DJ and winding the week down on Sunday with a traditional roast with all the trimmings.
