The Christmas cheer has continued into January at Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier as the attraction celebrates enjoying its best-ever festive season.
Instead of the all-too-common January blues, staff at the Pier have been busy crunching the numbers from the programme of parties that took place throughout December and confirmed that Christmas 2019 was a very merry one!
The Pier hosted a total of eight nights of Christmas parties, plus a New Year’s Eve spectacular, many of which were complete sell-outs, as nearly 7,000 guests chose to enjoy their seasonal celebrations at the seaside site.
But the facts and figures only present half the story; what has particularly pleased the Pier’s Events team is the positive feedback they have received from guests.
Hollie Otley, Event Manager at the Grand Pier, said:
“We had our best ever Christmas season, and feel as though we’ve really got the whole festive operation working like clockwork now. “Of course, that’s not to say that we’re in any danger of becoming complacent; our challenge now is to make December 2020 even bigger and better.
“It’s extremely gratifying, and a tremendous credit to the many members of staff involved, to receive the kind of amazing customer feedback we’ve had in response to the Christmas events.
“A huge effort is undertaken behind the scenes, planning the events, and then decorating and preparing the venue, and when you receive such positive comments in response, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“The theme for this December is going to be ‘Pure Imagination’, and we’re already taking bookings, which again is a sign that we are becoming the place to be in Weston-super-Mare for the best festive celebrations.”

Everything was perfect, the rides were great fun, the food was amazing, the staff were brilliant, the room and decorations were beautiful, the DJ was so good playing games and taking so many requests. Honestly it couldn't have gone any better and as for you guys every time one of us on the Christmas Party Team contacted you, you came back to us straight away.

The band - amazing, the entertainment - amazing, the staff - amazing, security staff were lovely and the waiting staff so efficient. The food serving was run like a military operation and all the lovely servers so nice and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and the decoration of the room was amazing. There wasn’t a thing we could fault. What a lovely start to 2020.
