Hatch is celebrating Chinese New Year 2019 with special plans dedicated to celebrating the Year of the Pig! The celebrations will run from Tuesday 5th – Sunday 10th February and the whole event is free to enter.

Hatch will get a Chinese New Year makeover as the venue will be decorated with traditional red Chinese lanterns for the weekend.

There’ll be a red envelope treasure hunt around Hatch on Saturday 9th February! Red envelopes are the traditional monetary gifts given in China on days of celebration – at Hatch these will contain special Chinese New Year Hatch treats like free street food, drinks, discounts plus some surprises too including tickets to see Mumford and Sons at the Manchester Arena. Just turn up on Saturday and start hunting. And don’t forget to tag @hatchmcr on Insta if you find one!

Newly returned Hatch street food resident Woks Cluckin will be giving away free South East Asian desserts with every dish sold especially for Chinese New Year. “Nyonya Kuih” is a bitesize traditional dessert and Wok’s Cluckin will be dishing them out for free from Tuesday 5th February. Meatless Farm are also getting on board and offering a Year of the Pig themed special!

There’ll also be an all important opportunity to re-centre and rebalance as you welcome the new year with a free Tai Chi session held on Thursday 7th Feb at 12.30pm. Those wanting to take part in the session which has limited spaces should register on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/free-tai-chi-at-hatch-tickets-55922211841) and meet at Takk.
