Bistrot Pierre, the newest addition to Mumbles’ exclusive Oyster Wharf development, opened its doors today (19 May) to a warm welcome from locals and visitors.

The independently-owned French restaurant group has launched ready for a busy summer season in the popular Welsh village. Those set to visit will enjoy a variety of seasonal menu options including the bestselling boeuf bourguignon maison, côte de porc and, of course, steak-frites.

Rob Beacham, co-owner of Bistrot Pierre, said: “We are delighted to have been greeted with such a great reception in Mumbles.

“It is a breath-taking location and there is something very special about eating fantastic food whilst looking out over one of the most spectacular views in the country.

“This is our third bistrot to open in Wales following on from our other restaurants in Cardiff – which opened three years ago - and Newport – which opened in 2015. These bistrots are thriving and we always get such good feedback from our Welsh customers.

“I’m confident that we’ll build a loyal customer base in Swansea as we have done in our other locations. It’s really lovely to see familiar faces visiting regularly with their family and friends, it creates a real sense of community which is so important to us.

“Our private dining area at the Mumbles restaurant will be the ideal setting for families to celebrate special occasions and enjoy great food and stunning views. It’ll be the closest you can get to eating on the coast in Cannes without leaving the shores of Great Britain.”

The popular lunchtime prix-fixe menu, which changes monthly, will be available seven days a week with prices from just £9.95 / £11.95 / £13.95 for one, two or three courses. In addition to this, there is a pre théâtre menu offering two courses for £14.95. An a la carte menu is also available, which changes seasonally, and the Bistrot will open daily at 9am serving hot breakfast sandwiches and pastries during the week and a full breakfast menu at the weekend including the very popular eggs benedict.

James Morse, commercial director at Nextcolour Developments, the company behind the Oyster Wharf development, said: “This is a stunning development and the restaurant will be a popular destination for both locals and visitors alike. Without a doubt, the sea views here are breath-taking and there are few other sites that can offer anything close to it.

“With brands such as Bistrot Pierre investing in the area, Mumbles is only going to get even better than it already is. I can’t wait to see how the village, and wider region, grows over the coming years.”

Bistrot Pierre recently launched its loyalty app, Mon Pierre Rewards whereby customers earn points for every pound spent within each restaurant.

Reservations are now being taken, please call 01792 365040 to book your table.
