Apex City of Bath Hotel has marked its arrival in the historic city with the help of two special guests marking a milestone of their own.

Local couple Debbee and Matt Whittaker, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary this month, arrived in true Bath style to help launch the £35 million hotel – by riding up in a Roman chariot.

The Whittakers were also treated to a special anniversary stay at the city’s largest hotel, which boasts 177 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, gymnasium and pool and sits at the heart of the city just minutes from Bath’s major tourist attractions – including the famous Roman Baths.

It is also Bath’s only purpose-built city centre conference facility, with capacity for 400 delegates.

Tim O’Sullivan, General Manager, Apex City of Bath Hotel said:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Debbee and Matt to help us officially launch our stunning new hotel, which is already giving guests the warmer welcome that Apex Hotels is renowned for.

It’s the city’s largest purpose built hotel in terms of bedroom numbers and conference and events space, with world-class facilities on offer.

It’s perfect for city breakers and families looking to explore the historic city of Bath.

I’m looking forward to welcoming even more guests – both local and from further afield – to experience exactly what Apex City of Bath Hotel has to offer.”

Debbee, who works as a dental nurse, said:

“We live across from the hotel and have watched it being built from the ground up, so to be invited to help launch it now that it’s all finished was a wonderful surprise – as was getting the chance to arrive by Roman chariot.

It’s a fantastic hotel and the team has been wonderful, helping us celebrate our first wedding anniversary and helping to make it truly special.

Everyone else who comes to stay at the hotel is in for a real treat.”

The launch of the £35 million Apex City of Bath Hotel marks a significant milestone for Apex, as it takes the company’s portfolio to 10 hotels across the UK, and represents its first opening England outside of London.
