Bristol-based protection and health insurance specialist, APRIL UK, is launching a brand new product on 4 July that aims to make private medical treatment in the UK more affordable for everyone.

The product, called the Hospital Self-Pay Cash Plan, offers low-cost monthly premiums in return for access to private medical treatment. APRIL UK believes the plan will prove immensely popular, as it helps people to benefit from first-class private hospital care without breaking the bank.

“We’ve been carrying out research into the market, and the feedback we’ve been getting is that many people view private medical insurance as a luxury product,” says Isaac Lam, APRIL UK’s Business Development Director. “So we decided to create a product that bridges the gap between affordability and access to private treatment. In the Bristol area, for example, we’re fortunate enough to have access to some amazing private hospitals, so we really hope that the new plan will give consumers more options when choosing the right healthcare to suit their needs”.

The Hospital Self-Pay Cash Plan combines the low-cost premiums of a cash plan with the valuable benefits of private medical treatment in the UK – a ‘best of both worlds’ solution. However, premiums differ to typical private medical insurance plans as they aren’t claims related. Instead they are age-banded, which means you pay a fixed premium as per your band.

In addition to providing access to private medical treatment, the plan covers specialist consultations, diagnostic tests, therapies, and private GP appointments. It’s simple to take out, with no medicals required and a simple pre-existing conditions clause applied.

Sarah Buck, Chief Executive Officer, had this to say: “We wanted to create a straightforward, easy-to-use cash plan that opens the doors of private healthcare to those who think it’s out of their reach. The new plan ticks all the right boxes in terms of affordability, health benefits, and simplicity.”

With the UK population living longer than ever before, the Hospital Self-Pay Cash Plan is set to provide a welcome, more affordable pathway to private medical treatment.
