One of the latest batch of recruits to AFH’s team of employed independent financial advisers will be a familiar face to soap-watchers, as he’s appeared on both Eastenders and Grange Hill.

Simon Evans was born within the sound of Bow Bells but grew up in Upminster, where he still lives.

Simon started work in the City of London straight from school, before moving into financial advice aged 26. He worked for the Halifax and then Santander for 17 years later before joining AFH.

“I already knew several other advisors working at AFH, and they spoke really highly of everyone at the company,”

he explained.

“We’re in a people business, so working with great people is a huge inspiration. And AFH’s unique client proposition, including zero platform fees and low-cost delegated authority funds, mean I’ll be offering clients a great service too.”

Simon has one son, who is a talented goalkeeper, and Simon coaches his under-9s team.

AFH head of new business Dawn Walker Bennett said:

“It’s great to welcome Simon to our growing team of employed advisers, further bolstering our presence in London and the Home Counties. And his TV experience will stand him in good stead – as at AFH we think everyone’s a star!”

As well as providing wealth management, stockbroking, mortgage and insurance services, AFH manages a £100m property portfolio that includes a business park in Ipswich and industrial units in Spalding.
