nexa law launches wellbeing programme with the appointment of Exeter-based leading personal development adviser

nexa law has appointed leading Exeter-based business coach Judy Salmon to oversee its newly developed wellbeing programme.

The wellbeing programme has been designed following a telephone survey with all fee-earners. nexa hired an external consultancy to speak to each lawyer to gather confidential feedback on their wellbeing needs. By using an external agency, lawyers felt free to discuss their thoughts and feelings more openly than if they had received a call from a member of the nexa team.

Matthew Dunne, nexa’s business development manager who is also based in Exeter, commented:

“We’ve had such great feedback from people about being part of nexa law, but also about how they valued the opportunity to share their thoughts with someone. We very deliberately avoided just sending out a questionnaire by email, but instead invested in giving our people the opportunity to have a confidential one-to-one conversation with another human.  I’d encourage every business to listen to what their people are saying and to understand how they’re really feeling.”

The appointment of Judy as a consultant signals the start of nexa’s ongoing wellbeing programme which will provide regular opportunities for fee-earners to get together online to discuss their key challenges, training sessions designed to support lawyers to grow in confidence, and one-to-one coaching with Judy for those who want a more personalised approach.

Judy Salmon commented:

“I have worked with Magic Circle, City and regional firms for over 20 years designing and delivering training programmes that absolutely reflect and meet the needs of the lawyers. I’m really excited about working with  nexa to give their lawyers the best experience of working in a distributed law firm. Notwithstanding that nexa’s lawyers are geographically far apart, it’s my job to ensure they feel connected – both to each other and the nexa brand.”

nexa law continues to invest in its people and is committed to delivering a better way to work for those lawyers looking for a future outside of a traditional law firm setting.

nexa  law is the UK’s fastest  growing  distributed law firm with over 70 consultant lawyers. 10 of nexa’s consultant lawyers  which are based in the South West and meet regularly at a  hub in  Exeter.
