A partner at a leading South West law firm has been promoted to a new role on the firm’s Board, with responsibility for client service and business development for the firm’s largest office.

Liz Allen, who is a partner and head of the family team at Stephens Scown LLP, is one of the UK’s leading divorce lawyers. She has been appointed Deputy Head of the firm’s Exeter office. This new role is a Board position.

Liz will support Mike Northcott, the Head of Office, in the smooth running of the Exeter office, with particular responsibility for client service and business development. However, she will also continue to work with clients in her role as Head of the Family team in Exeter.

Stephens Scown’s managing partner Robert Camp said:

“The firm is growing and our Exeter office now has over 140 members of staff. It was time to introduce this new Deputy Head of Office role to help us achieve our ambitions for the firm. Liz is one of our most experienced partners and will bring her considerable talents to this new role on our Board.”

Liz added:

“I’ve made my career at Stephens Scown and the firm has been on such a big journey in that time. I’m excited to help deliver our strategy for the Exeter office and I’m really looking forward to this new challenge.”

Liz is one of the UK’s leading divorce lawyers and has recently been featured on the Citywealth Leader’s List – an independent guide to the best advisors in private wealth from around the world – for the ninth consecutive year. She was also named a tier 1 ‘leading individual’ by Legal 500 and Chambers UK in their new guides for 2018.

Stephens Scown has over 290 staff, including more than 50 partners, across its offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell. It was named UK Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2016. For more information visit www.stephens-scown.co.uk
