Employee-owned law firm Stephens Scown LLP has made new appointments to its Board.
Hilary Pitts will be promoted to Head of Devon, Catherine Mathews to Deputy Head of Devon and Verity Slater to Deputy Head of Cornwall from 1 May. Verity will work alongside Brian Dolan, Head of Cornwall who was appointed last year. All of these roles are Board appointments and are replacing previous incumbents who have come to the end of their terms.
Hilary Pitts is a partner in the firm’s real estate team, where she specialises in advising developers and acts for several national and regional social housing providers.
Catherine Mathew is a partner and head of the firm’s dispute resolution team in Exeter, where her key area of work is contract disputes and commercial litigation.
Brian Dolan is a partner in the dispute resolution team, where he specialises in commercial and construction disputes. He is also a Deputy District Judge on the South Eastern circuit.
Verity Slater is a partner in the employment team, where she helps to resolve disputes between employers and employees. She also heads up the firm’s marine sector and leads on corporate social responsibility for the firm.
