Cheshire solicitors Hibberts has once again achieved the Law Society's mark of excellence for residential conveyancing.

This is the sixth year the firm has secured membership of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme following a rigorous assessment by the Law Society which confirms the firm adheres to the highest standards in the residential conveyancing process.

Stewart Bailey, managing partner at Hibberts Solicitors, said: “Hibberts is delighted to have secured CQS status as it is important proof of our commitment to quality and good practice as a firm.

“It includes measures such as ensuring our staff have undertaken enhanced training in relation to the conveyancing process, for example in money laundering and fraud. It means we have clear processes in place to ensure a quality service, such as how we manage client work during any staff absences.

“The overall beneficiaries are clients who use Hibberts Solicitors when buying a home. At the end of the last financial year we managed more than 2,600 residential property matters, several of which included financial transactions in excess of £3 million. This quality standard ensures every one of those cases receives a reliable, efficient service as recognised by the CQS standard.”

The scheme requires practices to undergo a strict assessment, compulsory training, self-reporting, random audits and annual reviews in order to maintain CQS status. It is open only to members of the Law Society who meet the demanding standards set by the scheme and has the support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association, Legal Ombudsman and the Association of British Insurers.
