pro-manchester is pleased to announce the line-up of speakers set to impress the crowds attending this year’s prestigious Economics Conference to be held on the 13th October at the Hilton Manchester.


We are delighted to welcome back Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council alongside Eamonn Boylan of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Mike Blackburn ,Chairman of the LEP and Anthony Light from Oxford Economics.


Bigger and Better than ever before

Now in its third year, the pro-manchester Economics Conference promises to be even bigger and better than before.

This year the day will focus solely on the Economic Growth of Manchester and our line-up of presenters and panellists look set to fully scrutinise this topic.

Further speakers include Joanne Roney, Chief Executive of Manchester City council, Mark Gregory, Chief Economist at EY, and Nigel Foster from Transport for the north.

Also, set to join them on stage are representatives from Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan Borough Councils plus Alliance MBS, Creative Concern, IPPR North, Latitude Law, Business Growth Hub and MMU.

Topics to be discussed on the day will cover Manchester and the Northern Powerhouse, life after Brexit, housing, key sector growth, employment & EU workers, the skills challenge and connectivity to keep Manchester moving.
