Midlands accountancy firm Prime Accountants Group has called on green tech consultants Carbon Happy World, to help reduce its carbon footprint.

Prime, which has offices in Solihull, Birmingham and Coventry, has partnered with the environmental business to upskill and empower its employees with sustainability practices to get ahead of the ever-growing climate crisis.

Together, the companies have built a partnership on Carbon Happy World’s understanding that for businesses to succeed in navigating the climate crisis, they must look at the organisation as a whole and make changes based on the idea that everyone can make a difference, no matter how small.

Managing director at Prime, Kevin Johns, said that as demand for businesses to reduce their carbon footprint grows, Prime is getting ahead of the curve and future-proofing its position as a preferred supplier through its partnership with Carbon Happy World.

Making all company cars electric vehicles and launching a green incentive where team members are paid an extra £390 a year for not travelling to work by car are just two of the ways Prime has already started making changes.

He said:

“Here at Prime, we are driven to bring about more sustainable working practices, which is why we made sure that Carbon Happy World could take to the stage for two hours during our company-wide conference in early May.

“During the seminar, they delivered a comprehensive presentation on climate change and how we as individuals can make the biggest difference.

“Since then, we’ve taken the next steps in our partnership, with each of our employees taking part in a carbon attitude survey, the results of which will decide who becomes part of Prime’s sustainability team.

“Partnering with Carbon Happy World was an easy decision as its ethos is aligned with ours; people are at the heart of everything we do.

“We’ve got an exciting road ahead and are eager to put our plans and practices into action, together with Carbon Happy World.”

Russell Grocott, director at Carbon Happy World, said the business focuses its time and effort on changing people’s perspectives, teaching sustainability as a skill to be educated on, as well as wellbeing practices and leadership traits.

He said:

“We understand that the climate can be complex, but our role at Carbon Happy World is to take away the complicated. If we can educate individuals on ways they can make their every day more sustainable both at work and home, businesses will automatically see repercussions of their efforts.”
