Family-run firm celebrates being shortlisted as one of the best in its field in the West Midlands

A family-run legal firm has been shortlisted for a prestigious regional award ahead of a milestone anniversary.

Adcocks Solicitors, who have offices across the region, including Lichfield, West Bromwich and the landmark Crossway building in Birmingham, is one of just four legal firms named as a contender for the title of Law Firm of the Year.

The niche practice, run by the same West Midland family for over a century, is shortlisted as being one of the best legal practices with under five partners in the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards 2020, which are open to firms in the city and surrounding areas.

But they’ll have to wait until the end of the month to find out if they’ve been chosen as the overall winner in their category at the 19th annual black-tie awards dinner in Birmingham’s ICC.

The shortlist revelation comes ahead of the firm, which employs several descendants of the founder Leonard Hedley Adcock, who originally set up shop in West Bromwich back in 1910, celebrating its 110th anniversary later this year.

“Incredibly proud moment” – founder’s great grandson

Director Hedley Adcock, who is Leonard’s great grandson, said:

“As a company with a long history in the West Midlands, this is an incredibly proud moment for us to be shortlisted for such a prestigious regional award.

“We always strive to deliver excellence across the board to our clients, who span across the UK and Europe, whilst always maintaining a personal approach which comes from being family-run. So, to have this recognition at such a high level is a professional honour.”

The winners of the legal awards will be announced on March 27 at the ICC.
