EY expands digital tax team with appointment of director

EY has appointed Eleanor Macdonald as a director in the Tax Transformation and Technology team, based in the Birmingham office.


Eleanor has 12 years’ experience within the tax technology sector, and joins the firm from Deloitte having previously held senior tax management consulting roles. She has built extensive experience helping clients to transform their tax compliance and reporting processes, making best use of automation and analytical technologies to increase efficiency, accuracy and visibility into the underlying data.


At EY, Eleanor will focus on helping companies to take advantage of the latest technology developments to transform their tax processes, and meet the increasing demands around transparency and disclosure from the public, governments and Digital Tax Administrations with initiatives such as HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD).


Eleanor’s appointment marks further growth of EY’s digital tax hub in the Midlands, which aims to bring the benefits of automation technology to the regional market.
