A UK top 100 law firm has moved to larger premises after increasing its headcount tenfold in just five years. The move has been supported by a funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Foot Anstey operates seven offices across the South West, as well as London and Southampton, and offers commercial legal services to national and international clients in a range of sectors including retail, property and finance. The fast growing firm has over 500 members of staff nationally and has seen an impressive journey of growth over recent years.

The law firm opened its first office in Bristol six years ago with just 10 members of staff. Its current headcount in the city is now over 130 with plans for continued growth. The business turned to its long-time banking partner Lloyds Bank to secure funding to support its move to its new site in the prestigious 2 Glass Wharf development.

The move supports several key initiatives: the delivery of an enhanced client experience, improved opportunities for agile and progressive working, as well as supporting employee health and wellbeing with walking desks with treadmills attached and a reflection room for contemplation.

Neil Demuth, Foot Anstey's Executive Director – Finance Operations, said: “The move marks a significant milestone for our operations in Bristol. We’re working towards a more open plan and agile way of working where colleagues can work in a way that best suits them as individuals and the service they offer their clients.

“We’ve enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with the team at Lloyds Bank. The expansion and move in Bristol has been a great way to celebrate our partnership.”

David Skyrme, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “The new office has given Foot Anstey the chance to continue its growth here in Bristol and we are proud to be able to continue to support the firm with its plans.

“Foot Anstey has been a valued client of Lloyds Bank for more than 100 years and we’re looking forward to working with the team as they take the practice forwards, both in Bristol and nationally.

“Supporting ambitious businesses, like Foot Anstey, as they look to exceed their growth ambitions is just one of the ways we’re helping Britain prosper.”
