Accountants in Leicestershire who advise family and owner-managed businesses are invited to attend a free discussion forum this month.

The event will take place at Nelsons Solicitors’ Leicester office – in Provincial House, 37 New Walk – on Thursday, 14 June. The practical and interactive hour-long session will cover topics including divorce and the family business, the court’s approach to value and payment structures.

Emma Davies, partner and solicitor who heads up Nelsons’ family law department in Leicester, will lead the forum, with contributions from Davinder Jaspal, partner and solicitor in the law firm’s corporate team.

“The family business comes in all shapes and sizes and can often add complexity to the divorce process. In today’s uncertain economic climate there are potential storms on the horizon for the family business and in the event of a divorce, it is imperative that expert advice is obtained.

“The forum will be informative and of particular interest to accountants who advise family and owner-managed businesses. It will be an excellent opportunity to gain expert opinion on these issues and to network with local accountants.”
