Three years ago a promise was made to the pupils of Priory School to actively invest in their future and commence a campaign of new buildings housing state of the art facilities. Three years later the promise is kept.

On May 24th Priory School’s new Mayfield building was officially launched in a star studded ceremony where Preet Gill MP for Edgbaston, Karen Armstrong OBE and James Brown of UB40 officially opened the building. A selection of supercars and drone demonstrations were on display to illustrate examples of technology and innovation to pupils

The contemporary building houses six new Preparatory classrooms and marks the initial stage of a five-year development programme taking the school from its strong Catholic heritage to modernity.

The next phase incorporates a high tech science block which will make Priory School the undisputed home of Science, technology, engineering and mathematics in Birmingham, placing it at the forefront of academic developments in this field.

Further expansion will see a modern sports centre and gymnasium, an innovative design technology suite, and senior school classrooms, all of which will enhance the facilities providing a nurturing and revolutionary learning environment for our students from six months to eighteen years.

Priory School is a historic building boasting seventeen acres of rolling parkland and Elizabethan gardens designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown; all within a stone’s throw of central Birmingham. The building is a grade II listed and has been a former girl’s convent school and a school for the sons of naval officers. It effortlessly combines historical elegance with a contemporary and revolutionary approach to education in a ‘though school’ setting.
