Rebecca Kinnersley, Project Manager at RP Translate, a language services provider with offices in Bristol, has been crowned the winner of the Project Manager of the Year category at the Association of Translation Companies’ (ATC) 2016 Language Industry Summit Awards.

Designed to celebrate success in the sector, with nominees being recognised by the judges for their commitment to excellence, Becky stood out for her outstanding skills in organisation, problem solving and communication, beating off tough competition from two other national finalists.

Commenting on her win, Becky said: “I was very proud just to have been nominated so when they read out my name I was lost for words. Whilst the job is hard work, I wouldn’t change it for the world and I’m very grateful that all of my efforts have been recognised at the highest possible level. This means a lot to my team as well.”

Speaking about Becky’s win, RP Translate’s HR manager Clare Partington added: “We are over the moon for Becky! To have her commitment and excellence finally recognised by the industry is almost a relief. It has been a long time coming and she is incredibly deserving of the award. The trophy has pride of place on our office mantelpiece.”

This year’s judging was undertaken by a panel comprising Rudy Tirry, President of the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies, Sarah Griffin-Mason, Chair of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting, Laura Brandon, Executive Director of the Globalization and Localization Association and Geoffrey Bowden, General Secretary for the ATC, who was the non-voting chair of the judging panel.

ATC General Secretary Geoffrey, said: “The gala award dinner was a remarkable celebration of excellence and success within the language industry. We would like to congratulate Rebecca on her win and hope that she and the other winners can help to demonstrate the importance and benefits of a career in the language sector for future generations.”
