A digital marketing agency has seen its highest graduate recruitment level yet.

Bristol based Fat Media is well known for its successful graduate recruitment programme which has been running for the last nine years. Aimed at nurturing up and coming talent, this year the programme has recruited its highest levels of graduates yet, with eight candidates joining the marketing, development and client service departments.

Joining the fatties at the Bristol offices are digital marketing graduates, Beth Barnham, James Carver and Phoebe Burt and user experience graduate, Megan Howell. The four graduates are just the latest to be recruited via the scheme.

Along with the Bristol grads, Fat Media’s recruitment of four graduates for its Lancaster and London offices brings the total head count to eight - making this the highest grad intake since the scheme began.

Emma Bowden, HR and talent manager at Fat Media, said: “Our graduates are put through their paces during our selection process. This allows each candidate to reveal their passion, drive and creativity to determine who will not only fit into the working culture we have here but also to which will make a successful ‘fattie’!

“When they join us, we are committed to helping graduates discover the right path at Fat Media, whether it’s client services, production, graphic design or IT, matching key personality traits and aspirations to their perfect role.”

The recruited graduates either live locally to the offices or were students who met the Fat Media Talent team at university job fairs.

New recruit, Megan Howell, who has joined the Bristol office as a user experience graduate said; “Applying for a job, especially your dream one, is so daunting and I genuinely have never felt so comfortable and welcomed in an interview process. Both times I met everyone at Fat Media I felt like I was sat in a room with friends having a normal conversation. I left feeling like I was able to actually put all of the best parts of myself across, rather than getting lost in interview nerves.

“I wanted to work for Fat Media because of the reasons above and because of how much they care about their clients. It was clear from the start that I would be encouraged in a creative environment and pushed to be the best I can be and this is everything I've wanted from a job and this is what I'm looking forward to most!”

With the scheme rearing yet more employment success, plans are well underway to attend grad recruitment fairs at local universities throughout the year.

Emma added: “We encourage all our graduates to step out of their comfort zone and discover different roles, to ensure they have a full well rounded knowledge of how Fat Media operates.

“Our graduates contribute to our young and vibrant team, bringing fresh new ideas and a different perspective from someone who has already worked in the industry.”
