Pupils at Beech Hall School were recently inspired by during a visit from England and GB Paralympic Football Captain, Jack Rutter.

Jack was welcomed into the Tytherington-based school for a motivational day, where he delivered energetic workshops to teach the pupils in Year 3 to 11 key football skills.

During a highly-engaging and inspirational speech, Jack shared with the intrigued children, staff members and parents, an insight into his life and journey to becoming a Paralympic footballer, including the challenges he has faced.

The informative and interactive visit supported the school’s ‘Olympic Passport’ initiative, a scheme that rewards pupils and helps them to understand the core values of the Olympic and Paralympic games – respect, excellence, friendship, determination, courage, equality and inspiration.

Headmaster, James Allen commented,

“It was an honour to welcome Jack Rutter into our school and particularly inspiring to hear our own Olympic values reinforced by a clearly determined and successful athlete.

“At Beech Hall School, we encourage confidence, determination and resilience, always striving to motivate our children to cope with challenges and manage adversity – an ethos truly underpinned by Jack’s visit. I would like to thank Mrs Morrison-Hughes, a Year 10 parent who organised for Jack to come in for the inspirational afternoon”
