A local team from Macclesfield-based firm, Direct Food Ingredients has donned fancy dress to compete in a festive Family Fun Elf Run in aid of children’s charity, The Joshua Tree.

Team members Steve Loake, Steve’s son, Joseph, Harry Nesbit, Sofia Chinea, Tom Mayer and Penny Woodward completed the 2K course, based in Roker Park in Northwich dressed head to toe in Christmas elf costumes, complete with elf ears, bolstering their grand total donations for The Joshua Tree, the firm’s chosen charity of the year.

During 2018, the company’s staff have taken part in a range of activities to support the charitable cause and highlight the wonderful work they do every day to help children affected by cancer across Cheshire.

The team has been dedicated to raising money throughout the year, competing in gruelling physical challenges including Tough Mudder and the Northwich Dragon Boat Race alongside bake sales and swimathons, raising over £3900 for the Northwich charity.

Steve Loake Managing Director of Direct Food Ingredients commented,

“Here at Direct Food Ingredients, we understand how important The Joshua Tree’s services are in our community and have been so proud to raise awareness of the cause throughout the year.

“I would like to say thank you to all of the Direct Food Ingredients team who have taken part or donated, I know the funds raised will go towards supporting this much-loved charity so they can continue their wonderful work.”

The Joshua Tree, based in Northwich, helps children and their families across the North West living with the life-changing effects of childhood cancers, to ensure they receive the best academic, social and emotional support, both in and out of school.
