An award-winning commercial property agency has donated over £5,000 to name a Guide Dog on behalf of one of their three offices.

Innes England - which has offices in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester - announced Guide Dogs UK as its charity of the year in January. The agency is running a number of events throughout 2018 to raise funds for the organisation, which helps blind and partially sighted people across the UK by providing guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services.

Tim Garratt, managing director at Innes England presented a cheque for £5,418.34 to Jo Berry, Community Fundraising Business Development Manager for Guide Dogs at the company’s Derby office.

He said:

“Guide Dogs make such a difference to their owners. Our aim was to raise enough to train at least one – and I’m delighted to present this sum so soon after the launch of our partnership with Guide Dogs.

“We’re also very pleased to be able to name a future Guide Dog. After some tense voting, the staff chose Molly if it’s a girl or Harvey if it’s a boy. We’re now eagerly waiting to find out which it will be.

“We still have the rest of the year to carry on fund-raising, so we hope to name two more dogs – one for each of our offices.”

Jo Berry added:

“It costs over £5,000 to breed and puppy walk each Guide Dog and we rely on donations from companies and individuals to continue our life-changing work. Every pound makes a difference to those living with sight loss so we’re grateful to Tim and the team at Innes England for their donation.”
