National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP is to sponsor the St Margaret’s Hospice Great Somerset Cycle 2019, which takes place on Sunday 24th March 2019.

The firm, which has a Taunton office at Blackbrook Gate, are joint lead sponsors for the event, together with The Bicycle Chain.

This is the second Great Somerset Cycle following the success of 2017, and involves either a 40 or 80 mile cycle across the beautiful Somerset countryside and is open to everyone, from novices to elite cyclists. As well as sponsoring the event, this year Clarke Willmott will be also putting forward a team to tackle the 80 miles.

Kate Gardner, Partner and Head of Clarke Willmott’s Taunton office, who is also a keen cyclist, commented:

“We are extremely pleased to be supporting St Margaret’s Hospice and the Great Somerset Cycle. The charity does a great deal of work for the people within our local community and their families and we want to show our support for how grateful we are to both their workers and volunteers. Members of our staff took part in the cycle ride last year and because we enjoyed it so much, we have decided to be joint sponsors this year”.

Sadie Ellison, Corporate Partnerships Manager at St Margaret’s Hospice, said:

“The Great Somerset Cycle is an important fundraising event for St. Margaret’s Hospice and a memorable experience for everyone who takes part. It couldn’t happen without the support of our valued sponsors.

“We’re delighted that after a team from the firm completed the ride in 2017, Clarke Willmott has come on board as a joint headline sponsor this year. The firm’s sponsorship will pay for two whole days of care for a patient in one of our In-patient Units, as well as helping to raise awareness of our charity and the Great Somerset Cycle.”

St. Margaret’s Hospice has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 38 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Whether it is for one day or several weeks, the time patients spend at the hospice is precious and cherished by their families. Through their medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, they provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to their patients and their loved ones.

With two hospice sites; one in Yeovil and one in Taunton, as well as five community based teams caring for patients in their own homes, St Margaret’s continually strives to reach everyone in the community who needs care, often during their last days.

Clarke Willmott LLP is a national law firm with seven offices across the country, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.
