A charity which cares for children with life limiting conditions – and their families – is set to be the real winner in a glittering awards gala in Bristol next month.

Final preparations are being made for the third annual Night of the Stars, which is organised by the Bristol Hoteliers Association (BHA) to recognise and celebrate those who have gone above and beyond in support of the city’s hospitality industry.

Children’s Hospice South West, which provides respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end-of-life care at three hospices in the region, has again been named as the event’s chosen charity.

Last year’s Night of the Stars resulted in a £5,000 donation being made to the worthy cause.

Over the past few weeks, expert judges have been assessing nominations for eight awards which will be presented during the evening, which takes place on Friday, February 6 at the Bristol Marriott City Centre.

Raphael Herzog, Chair of the BHA, said:

“This has been a fantastic year for the hospitality sector and we are so excited about the future of the association.

“Night of the Stars is all about our team, bringing together more than 300 hard-working individuals. People are the most important asset in our industry, and this is an opportunity to honour the star performers working in Bristol.

“The judges were highly complementary about the nominations, which they said were all first-class, and ensured that they had some extremely difficult decisions to make over the past few weeks.

“We’re very grateful for the support of our sponsors, without whom we would not be able to recognise the valuable contribution made to our industry and the city by the top talent in our profession.

“The hospitality sector is a shop window for the city, and the skilled staff frequently provide the first point of contact – and create that vital first impression – for those visiting the city for both business and pleasure.

“The event also gives us the opportunity to support people in need, and we hope to once again raise thousands of pounds for a charity which provides vital support to people in heart-breaking circumstances.

“Their teams provide round-the-clock care and give families a chance to spend time together and make incredibly precious memories. It is very humbling for us to be able to do something in support of such an amazing organisation.”
