Inspirational pupils from Beech Hall School have launched their latest charitable endeavour, a Mega Triathlon with an ambitious fundraising target of £25,000.

Year 10 pupils at the Tytherington-based school have accepted the highly-demanding challenge, presented to them by their headmaster, James Allen. In preparation for the gruelling task, the pupils are engaging in fundraising activities and accepting sponsorships in a bid to raise vital funds for PAPYRUS, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and the prevention of young suicide.

To begin their arduous triathlon, the Beech Hall cohort will canoe the 11-mile Lake Windermere in the Lake District. After conquering the water, the group will cycle approximately 100 miles from Kendal to Disley, before walking the remaining 13 miles back to school in time for the Beech Hall Summer Concert, to celebrate the end of their journey.

James Allen commented,

“I would like to wish our pupils the very best of luck for their impending adventure. Their ambitious fundraising target of £25,000 is testament to their determination to raise much-needed funds for this exceptionally worthy cause and their desire to reach this target is evident in their positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.

“We are incredibly passionate about providing our pupils with ample opportunities to personally challenge themselves, and what better way to do so than combining this with fundraising.”

The t-shirts that the children are wearing were kindly donated by Print it Wilmslow.
